Some cool safety tech you should consider when buying a car

Technology has helped us in so many ways. One way in particular, that makes so much of a difference? Safety. Thanks to technology, there are a million and one ways to get into trouble but a million and two ways to stay safe. Now cars – We don’t just drive a car. We pretty much live in it. According to some Googling, Malaysians spend around 53 minutes a day, stuck in traffic. If you’re a KL-ite you’re probably laughing since you’ve done the 3-hour jam. Even then, an hour a day in a car, that’s around 300 hours a year and that’s about 12 full days!

Think about this: If your loved one was going to be in a car for 12 days… Would you not want them to have everything that could keep them safe? A car’s kind off a scary thing after all, just a hunk of metal hurtling through air. So without further ado, here’s a list of some must have tech that can keep you safe while you’re on the road!

Head-up Displays

It’s 2018 and hey, we’ve got a lot going on. Apparently, Malaysians spend up to 12 hours a day on digital devices – even when we’re not supposed to! Now have all your vital readouts from speed to gas displayed right in front of you in a way that doesn’t block your view. Now you won’t ever need to take your eyes off the road! And hey, there’s more because you can also see navigational directions and receive phone calls! You can do more, because these babies often come customizable.

Get them ready made in a car if you’re about to get yourself one, otherwise, invest in one that can be easily installed – get them online, easy peasy!

Anti-Collision Warning Systems

Self-driving cars are in the works but till the world has adopted it completely, we can’t take naps if we’re sitting in the driver’s seat. So this one’s great! How many of us have dozed off just a little while driving? Don’t lie, at least not to yourself.

You know it’s happened because well, it’s been a long day and sometimes we just need to close our eyes for a bit. And this little piece of tech will warn you if you’re about to collide with a car or something else close by! It could even apply the brakes if you’re not quick enough! Now this is smart tech.

Blindspot Monitoring

This one’s a little similar to the anti-collision tech. If you’re driving a big car, there’s a big possibility that you’ve got some blind spots; Have you ever been caught off guard by a car suddenly zooming by out of nowhere? This specific clever tech can monitor your car’s surroundings and sense when there is a car in one of your blind spots! It can then give out a warning to let you know and keep you alert.

There you have it, folks, three of my top picks for extra safety while in a car. But don’t forget the basics! Always buckle up. Remember, a car is at most times empty. Other times, it has you in it. And the rest of the time? It holds everyone you love. Motor vehicle fatalities are in the thousands, with car crashes in the hundreds of thousands so you don’t want to think twice when it comes to investing in safety especially when it’s available to us now. Happy driving!
