Joining TOC was an easy decision at the time as they were the only college that offered the course that I wanted with the standard that I wanted in 2008. Long story short, I was extremely fortunate to meet great lecturers, college staff and classmates. Many of whom is still are in contact with.
College life was good, the college offered training and teaching modules that I feel was lacking elsewhere. At times they allowed us to meddle with some of the cars in the workshop even after hours to learn and train ourselves. It was fun and challenging to strip and put back cars together. If you see a missing dashboard bolts on the old B170, it was not us ;)…….. I was privilege to be the first Head of the Student Counsel. We got the ball rolling on many student activities and improving student affairs. While in college I was part of Empire Motorsports, at the time we were the only college students in Malaysia to be racing while studying. Mind you we did not get paid; it was a labour of love. We broke many boundaries and stereotypes about sex and age in the local motorsport industry as it was seen as an unfashionable profession or hiring fresh automotive graduates was pointless. We set a high standard and often beat the so called experienced teams. We showed that with the right attitude, knowledge and lots of heart we can make positive change and be leaders in the industry.
My drive for success is to continue to grow, learn and make positive changes wherever I apply my trade and to give maximum commitment to achieve my goals. I personally enjoy the satisfaction of completing a set goal, such as when we finished the Dubai 24HR race, or class win in MSS and GT Asia series. Even now working in the aftersales industry, we work towards surpassing our aftersales annual targets and we are vying to be the best brand aftersales centre worldwide.
