College gives free copies of The Star
MOTORISTS travelling south after the long Chinese New Year break received free copies of The Star newspapers at the Sungai Besi toll plaza on Saturday.
The free newspapers were handed out to motorists by The Otomotif College (TOC) chief executive officer Adelaine Foo as part of the college’s effort to spread awareness of safe driving to motorists in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration.
“Many people will be travelling home during the festive season which was why we chose this period to remind motorists of the safety measures one should take before going on a long journey,” said Foo.
“Many drivers overlook the importance of servicing their vehicles,” she said.
Foo added that the college offered diploma courses in automotive technology and motorsports and also gave talks and programmes on car maintenance.
During the second exercise by TOC at the Sungai Besi and Jalan Duta toll plazas, some 3,000 copies of The Star were handed out.
The first exercise was held on Feb 13, the eve of Chinese New Year where 7,000 copies of the newspaper were distributed at the Sungai Besi, Jalan Duta, Batu Tiga and Subang toll plazas.
