Honda has a long history in developing environmentally responsible technology. Its Compound Vortex Controlled Combustion (CVCC) technology introduced in 1972, was the first to pass the U.S. 1970 Clean Air Act emissions requirement without a catalyst. Honda’s commitment to developing advanced technology has remained unabated and today, Honda’s Hybrid raises the standard for environmental friendly, advanced automotive technology. Honda first introduced the Integrated Motor Assist, or better known as IMA, hybrid technology in 1999.  This technology was extended to the Civic family in 2003 and over the years, Honda engineers have fine-tuned the system.

In August 2007, Honda Malaysia launched the 2nd Generation Civic Hybrid in Malaysia. With this launch, Honda Malaysia became the first car manufacturer to introduce the Hybrid and make it available to all Malaysians. The Civic Hybrid is built on a dream of developing green vehicle that is gentle on the environment, yet uncompromising on design aesthetics and driving pleasure. The Civic Hybrid is the embodiment of Honda’s care to the environment around us, and this care extends to include Malaysia last year.
